1) Idle speed behaviour from the engine: (2)
Idling was quiet, and still is; I did not notice a real difference. Before tuning, air con used to change the idling of the engine. During this period, air con is off since weather is still quite cool: this may explain why the difference is hardly noticeable.

2) Driving away from idle speed: (5) Before the tuning there was a issue with the Dynamic driving mode: even with much attention, it was very difficult to control the slightly jerky start of the car. In heavy traffic, this made the Dynamic mode driving experience a bit too delicate to be pleasant. This behaviour has disappeared completely. It is now even possible to park and manoeuver at very low speed in Dynamic driving mode, which has become controllable and pleasantly quick.

3) Low revs. behaviour (3). Difference in behaviour is slight. The engine seems to be reving more quickly in Dynamic mode. I did not notice much change in Naturale driving mode.

4) High revs behaviour (4) The top rpm has not changed (still around 6000 rpms), however the engine seems fuller and more powerful in Dynamic driving mode from 3000 rpm onwards. Torque is noticeably stronger between 3000-5500 rpms, and this makes a real life difference on highways and on regular roads. I did not have a chance to drive on mountain roads yet since the tuning, but from current experience this is something I am now waiting for. I did not test changes to Naturale mode, as I stayed in Dynamic mode most of the time (see previous point).

5) Fuel consumption (3) I wasn't paying much attention to fuel consumption before tuning, and I am still not paying that much attention now. Still, I drove 400 kms back to France. Watching the instantaneous consumption from time to time on the highway at mostly legal speed, it looked more often than not in the 7-7.5 l/100 km range where I was expecting consumption to stay in the 8-8.5 l/100 km range. It might also be that I happened to look at the right time, as instantaneous consumption is quite variable anyway.

6) Total opinion (4) The car has not changed very much in Naturale mode, but it is completely different in Dynamic mode: with smooth, linear and powerful reaction to the throttle, this has indeed become a pleasantly quick car.

The tuning was done in Oostende, in an Alfa Romeo dealership, and it took about an hour. Stephan and team have been very helpful, and they really know what they are doing. If I ever buy another Alfa Romeo, I will proabably become a returning customer of squadra tuning, even if this is not the closest tuning shop from home.
